A co-worker’s boyfriend works for Chase, and happened to have a coupon for 30% off at this restaurant called 7 Salsas. The stipulation was that you had to be a Chase employee to take advantage of the deal. Of course, all of us came up with elaborate backstories of how we work for Chase, yadda yadda yadda, which we were totally going to tell the waiter if he gave us trouble. But, as is usually the case, they didn’t care. We just showed the coupon and that was that. Continue reading
The Hubby works at TI, and his new group goes out for lunch together on Wednesdays. They will often visit a taco joint called Torchy’s Tacos.
OMG, it’s been forever since my last post… I’m not going to make any excuses, I just suck. LOL.
Well, the Hubby and I got to travel back to Maryland for a convention, and while we were there we took in an Orioles’ game. I’d been dying to try one of their new menu items: the Crab Mac & Cheese Dog.
The Hubby was craving sushi, so we went out for some last night. As usual, we ordered waaaaay too much and we were stuffed to the point of uncomfortable by the time we left.
But would I change that? Never! LOL.
Super late again. LOL. I know that SXSW (South by Southwest) was weeks ago, but work has been crazy and I haven’t had the energy to update posts. Blurgh.
So, here it is, weeks later. 😉 My SXSW trip. We got into Austin mid afternoon, and after dropping off our stuff at the Driskill (GORGEOUS hotel, btw) we made our way towards the convention center. On the way, we stopped by the Mooseknuckle to grab lunch. I got the BBQ brisket sandwich and the Hubby got pulled pork. We ended up liking the other’s sandwich better and switched.
Both sandwiches were good. Little disconcerted that they took our credit card when we placed our order and kept it until we finished eating… but I heard that’s common for bars. The wait staff was incredibly friendly, which was nice. Food took a little longer that I would have thought considering they only had about 5 things on the lunch menu to choose from.
Ok, I know this is late and that it’s almost March already. What can I say? I’ve been busy. LOL.
So, for Valentine’s Day, the Hubby decided to surprise me with a romantic dinner out. He wouldn’t tell me where, so it was kind of fun. He booked a reservation at Lavendou’s Bistro in Dallas. They had a special Valentine’s set menu.
Recently discovered a new place to grab lunch. Urban Eatz in Richardson is amazingly, and unexpectedly, delicious! They have artisan sandwiches without some of the pretentiousness that you’d get at some other bistro-like restaurants. It’s like if Panera served french fries.
(Pictured above) I got a Southwest Chicken sandwich, which is probably my favorite thing I’ve had there. Sliced grilled chicken breast with avocado, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, chipotle mayonnaise, and mixed greens on toasted ciabatta bread. It’s comfort food with a touch of class. The fries are so delicious.
I’ve also tried their Tuna Salad, which is pretty tasty. And the Hubby has gotten their Pulled Pork sandwich (above middle), which he said has a bbq sauce that tastes just like the bbq sauce they use on the McDonald’s McRib. So, if you’re looking for something with actual meat and that’s probably tons healthier for you (plus, without the fake grill marks), then you’re better off ordering one of these at Urban Eatz. He’s also had their Club, which he said was also yummy.
Even though there’s a Panera in the same shopping center, we’ve been drawn more and more to Urban Eatz for lunch on weekends. Can’t wait to go back!
