It’s over… well, mostly over. Hatch Chile season is coming to a close, and that makes me incredibly sad. Why does Pumpkin Spice get four – five months and the poor Hatch Chile only gets 1? Not fair.
Well, while they have it available, get your fill of the Urban Crust Hatch Green Chile Pizza. We tried it the other week and I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do when it goes away.
(Hatch green chile base on hand stretched dough, roasted sirloin, queso fresco, topped with tabacco fried onions & fresh cilantro)
A ramen shop opened up near our house so we decided to check it out. The Sapporo Ramen & Grill is located near the Asia World Market on Legacy Dr in Plano, TX. It’s in a renovated former frozen yogurt shop. As you can see in the photo above, they’ve covered up where the fro-yo dispensers were with cleverly placed framed pictures. It almost looks like it was done on purpose. Continue reading
Ok, so the photo above, that was food for 3 ladies. 3 very HUNGRY ladies. I couldn’t get all of the food in one shot due to the angle, but rest assured that there was more food on the table.
Where are earth are we, and what would posses us to order so much? Well, we’re at Peace Burger in Grapevine, TX for lunch, and we ordered so much because it’s just that good. Continue reading
Holy Mother of God do I love Spam. I don’t know what it’s made of, and I don’t want to know. All I know is that I’m addicted to its salty goodness. And while Spam by itself is pretty great, Spam and rice is heaven. It’s very homey to me. My mother frys spam bits with kimchee and makes fried rice that way. It’s a delicious, delicious combination. You should try it. Salty and spicy… mmmmmmmmm…..
A co-worker’s boyfriend works for Chase, and happened to have a coupon for 30% off at this restaurant called 7 Salsas. The stipulation was that you had to be a Chase employee to take advantage of the deal. Of course, all of us came up with elaborate backstories of how we work for Chase, yadda yadda yadda, which we were totally going to tell the waiter if he gave us trouble. But, as is usually the case, they didn’t care. We just showed the coupon and that was that. Continue reading
The Hubby works at TI, and his new group goes out for lunch together on Wednesdays. They will often visit a taco joint called Torchy’s Tacos.
Super late again. LOL. I know that SXSW (South by Southwest) was weeks ago, but work has been crazy and I haven’t had the energy to update posts. Blurgh.
So, here it is, weeks later. 😉 My SXSW trip. We got into Austin mid afternoon, and after dropping off our stuff at the Driskill (GORGEOUS hotel, btw) we made our way towards the convention center. On the way, we stopped by the Mooseknuckle to grab lunch. I got the BBQ brisket sandwich and the Hubby got pulled pork. We ended up liking the other’s sandwich better and switched.
Both sandwiches were good. Little disconcerted that they took our credit card when we placed our order and kept it until we finished eating… but I heard that’s common for bars. The wait staff was incredibly friendly, which was nice. Food took a little longer that I would have thought considering they only had about 5 things on the lunch menu to choose from.
